Overview

Master the fundamentals of inventory, production, logistics, and network design. Develop a systems view of how supply chains behave in the real world. This course equips you with practical tools to optimize supply chain performance and navigate complexity enabling smarter, more resilient supply chain decisions across global networks.

Through a combination of videos, quizzes and real-world case discussions in our live sessions together, you will learn the following:

  1. Time Value of Money
    Understand how time, inflation and uncertainty affect the value of money, and how this impacts financial decisions.
  2. Cost of Capital
    Learn how firms determine their funding costs.
  3. Investment Criteria
    Evaluate different methods for making sound investment choices.
  4. CAPM
    Gain insights into risk, through a commonly used measure called “CAPM beta”.
  5. Capital Allocation
    Develop strategies for the efficient allocation of resources within a corporation.
  6. Market Shenanigans
    Identify and analyze unethical financial practices, from real-world case studies and examples.

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  1. Analyze the theories and key terms in corporate finance.
  2. Evaluate financial management tools and techniques.
  3. Interpret financial data and financial policies of corporation.

The Corporate Finance course is designed for Executives who want to make informed corporate decisions and strengthen their foundational and applied knowledge of corporate finance.

To ensure you get the best outcome from this course, you will need a basic knowledge of accounting and Excel. Before beginning the course, we strongly recommend that you familiarise yourself with the following:

  1. Basic accounting knowledge
    The below 3 topics in this Financial Accounting EdX course (free to enroll, without the certificate) will prepare you with the basic accounting knowledge needed for the Corporate Finance course.

  2. Basic Excel for finance
    In this course, you will be using Excel for workings and calculations. We strongly recommend you familiarise yourself with the short readings below, which cover some basic Excel formulas in a practice Excel workbook.

Before the live sessions, you will watch short video lectures lasting 20 to 40 minutes and complete assignments to cement your understanding of the videos.

The live sessions are held in hybrid format, beginning with a review of the video lecture and followed by a discussion of the case of the day.
